Hi there. I was recently registered in a car show in Red Deer Alberta, and probably the last one in similar surroundings.
There was a multitude of beautiful cars to look at, and many who put their heart and soul into them. My problem is the majority of cars chosen as winners in their categories are all the same and perhaps somewhat boring in my eyes.
From Dodge Chargers, chevy ss camaro's, superbee's etc, which are beautiful cars, everone has them but in different colors and they always seem to win in these type of car shows.
Personally, I like the small town type of atmosphere for car show's. People tend to show more appreciation and are intriged by the array of different vehicles that are unique and perhaps one of a kind.
I was a little dissapointed in the judging, especially Mr. Barris who has a very distinct and gifted talent for designing the most talked about and fastenating cars in the world. It wasn't the greatest turnout for participants because of the weather, though I think there was more to vote on than the typical Hot wheel matchbox toys that have never been introduced to the pavement or other weather elements including bugs on the windshield.
I'm a person of vision and value the people who enjoy cars of all categories and do not single them out for cars that look all the same and are kept wrapped up in plastic.
Long story short, I guess I'm trying to figure out what people value the most in car shows. Personally, my satisfaction is where people can relate to the types of cars they had in their era and say, Wow! I remember those days, and say it with a grin from cheek to cheek. I didn't get that feeling in Red Deer.
I have the greatest respect for George and his many talants for unique automobiles, I just wanted to give my oppinion, because you were offering to do so.
Thanks for your time and hope that George has many more succesfull years of bringing his artwork to all his fans including myself.
